2008 Beijing Olympics - National Art&Design Exhibition Held
August 4, 2008 – 4:51 pmAs one of the major cultural events during 2008 Beijing Olympics - National Art&Design Exhibition for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games opened ceremoniously on 17:00 2nd August at the Art Gallery of Central Academy of Fine Arts, and will last till 11th September. The expo is co-hosted by the Art Bureau of the Ministry of Culture, P.R.C., Central Academy of Fine Arts and China Art Museum, and has been prepared tensely for a couple of months. The expo is the first large-scale exposition held at the Art Gallery of Central Academy of Fine Arts since its opening. With the topic of “Design and the Olympics”, all exhibits express the Olympic spirit that cherished by designers from China and the world with their designs, spreading the humanistic Olympic atmosphere through artistic languages.
The exhibits presented on the expo include Olympic posters from international design groups, Olympic sculptures from around the country, Olympic characteristic landscape design from Central Academy of Fine Arts, interior design for Beijing Olympic subway branch line and subway stations of airport subway line, Beijing Olympic Park’s information pole design, Olympic fashion design and jewelry design, etc., totaled 10 categories, hundreds of exhibits, among which many are adopted and put into practice. The expo is said to be a massive inspection to the design works which serve the Olympics and were created by art design groups from around the country.
