August 13, 2008 – 12:14 pm

The Olympic Games which is hosted every four years has been not only the world’s grand athletic event, but also an opportunity through which the host country presents its unique culture and artistic glamour to the whole world. Many artists and designers are contributing to the Games. Since 2004, Mr. Ma Juncheng has been keeping in the designing for various aspects of the Olympic Games, with many pieces awarded and selected.
Ma Juncheng believes it is a lucky to participate in designing for the Olympics, and every designer should keep clearly in mind the challenges they face. Therefore the problem we confront is whether we could catch the opportunity to present the fruits of our effort. As we commented on the designing for every past session of the Olympic Games, it is the time for us Chinese designers to submit our answer sheet for the professions’ comments from the rest part of the world. Hence, it is required that our designing should come with both global views and the nation’s artistic characteristics as well. The landscape sculptures for the Olympics is widely and highly valued from most extents of our society, with its function to be the organic carrier to promote overall elegance and artistic tastes of the Olympic venues. It is also believed that the Beijing Olympic Games ought to present a lot of excellent works and leave with plenty of legacies for the Olympics with all efforts carried out by the designers and artists.
