Creative Electronic Products from Retang of Shenzhen

Retang is a complex electronics company conbining researching, manufacturing and marketing. It mainly develops computer peripheries and office equipments. Chu Minghua, one of its founders, is an industrial designer, with 6 years engaged in industrial design in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. At the end of 2007 he set up Retang with his close friends.

USB HUB; the initial creative idea was quite simple. It is hoped that when a USB device is plugged in, an LED light will turn on, which identifying the stage between connecting and disconnecting clearly and conveniently. With the outline of the lighting window, the design began with an arrow shape, and finally quoted graphic design from PSP to improve its graphic characteristics.

USB HUB; the product is hoped to give its user new interesting experiences. Hence the standing elf is invented, with its four limbs acting as USB ports. It looks like a man holding swords when connected with USB plugs. In addition, there is a note-clip at the elf’s head position.

Cartoon speaker system; by the method of personifying, it enhances an entertaining feel during operations. The product’s switch function is realized by pushing the duckling’s mouth. The speaker is located at the opening of the duckling’s mouth. When the mouth is pushed, the eyelids will also swing up and down. The duckling is asleep when the speaker is off. While the speaker turns on, the duckling will open its eyes. It is hoped that through the switch-over between the stage of sleeping and singing after waking up, the duckling is endued with more personified and interesting characters. The volume adjusting knob is located at the left ear.
